Who are We the People?

A Cross-Country Civic Experiment in Listening and Dialogue

Join Us in a Journey of Listening and Understanding

Project: Preamble is a cross-country listening tour and documentary project where a team of facilitators will ride bicycles from New York to California in Fall 2026. Along the way, they’ll host in-person conversations with everyday Americans to ask:
What does “We the People” mean to you?
This project isn’t about politics. It’s about presence. About conversation. About finding common ground in uncommon times.

What is Project: Preamble?

What is Project: Preamble?

Project: Preamble is a civic experiment rooted in the act of listening.

In 2026, a team of facilitators will ride across the country asking people what “We the People” means to them…

Why Now?

We’re constantly told how divided we are. But many of us experience something different in real life. This project explores the gap between what we’re told and what we live—and tries to create a space where we can talk about it honestly.

What We’re Doing:

Core Values:
Trust, curiosity, respect, reflection, inclusion, and play.

Voices of the People

Join us on a transformative journey as we explore the meaning of ‘We the People’ through listening and dialogue. Our cross-country bicycle trip aims to connect communities and amplify unheard voices across America.

Start the New Year with a New Kind of Conversation
On January 21, 2026, Project: Preamble kicks off with a pilot conversation—a space to slow down, look around, and ask: What does “We the People” really mean today?

We’re gathering 10–12 community members for an honest, human-scale dialogue about justice, belonging, and the kind of country we want to build—together. No podiums, no politics—just people in a room, telling the truth as they see it.

Date: Wednesday, January 21, 2026
Time: 3:30–5:30 PM
